Cavalleri
Cavalleri sits in the heart of Franciacorta, home to Italy’s greatest methode champenoise sparkling wine houses, in the northern province of Lombardy.
Since 1980, Cavalleri has been under the leadership of Giovanni Cavalleri who has transformed his family estate into the state-of-the-art winery it is today. Vineyards now cover 31 hectares and are planted in soil that is light and perfectly drained, ideal for the chardonnay grape used solely in Cavalleri‘s Franciacortas. The farm produces approximately 100,000 bottles annually.
Franciacorta sparkling wines now enjoy a rigorously controlled DOCG status. This means the name itself on the label guarantees the method of production, as it does on a Champagne label. The elite wines of Franciacorta, and this includes Cavalleri’s Blanc de Blancs Brut Collection, are matured for four years and sometimes longer, to achieve finer and more persistent bubbles and a mellower, more harmonious flavour.
